Sonoma Valley

Is one of the most renowned winemaking areas north of San Francisco whose rich soils mark the birthplace of California’s wine industry. Cradled between the Mayacamas and the Sonoma Mountain ranges, The Valley sometimes gets referred to as ‘Moon Valley’ as it appears that the moon rises and sets various times behind the mountain range.

With more than 425 wineries and almost twice the size than Napa Valley- its main rival- it is said to be less commercialised and more laid-back, which I wholeheartedly agree with!

The small towns and cities like the historic Sonoma, are lovely and well kept with cute little shops, art galleries and nice restaurants.

The Sonoma county as a region is also very versatile with its large state parks home to those majestic redwood trees as well as beautiful sandy beaches.

A truly wonderful place…

  1. You write about such interesting topics in such an enchanting way – if you ever get tired of Human Resources (or Personnel, as it was called in my time), you should think about journalism! I felt like hopping on a plane and visiting the vineyards, and I am sure I am not the only one. 🥰
