Walking along the sidewalks in Manhattan is brutal in summer. Not only because of the sweltering heat amplified by concrete and the sun bouncing off those glass facades, but also because of the apparent absence of trees and plants and therefore lack of shade.
So when I saw this little fella making its way through a tiny crack in the sidewalk, my inner cheerleader made a somersault in support of its growth (even though it most likely is only some sort of weed as opposed to a tree sapling 😅)

Isn’t nature fantastic? And how wonderful that you can still notice the small things in life. I wish you had more greenery around you. 🤗💐

Thank you for yet another of your thoughtful comments… I believe that one should never stop noticing- and appreciating- the small things! And yes, more greenery would be fantastic, but I take what I can get 😃
