My first post of the year is about this gorgeous homemade marble cake I got for my birthday—which happens to be today 😊

Marble cake is such a traditional birthday cake in Germany, and one bite instantly takes me back to so many past birthdays celebrated with friends and family. Each one special, each one dear to my heart.

Today was no different. Even with the challenge of being back at work after the holidays (never easy), a cosy, lazy morning with freshly baked cake, good coffee, and my loved ones made the day feel just right.

I’ll keep this post short and sweet and wish us all a year filled with good health, happiness, love, plenty of laughter, and exciting opportunities.

And cake. Lots of it. 🎂
