This Saturday I popped by a Baileys pop-up — the tasty, creamy liquor that’s especially famous during the holidays. I had a hot chocolate with Baileys and whipped cream on a very cold December day, surrounded by fairy lights and Christmas trees. A nice little warm-up.

It reminded me of all those beautiful Christmas markets in Europe — especially back home in Germany, where you get hot chocolate, eggnog, and of course Glühwein. I really miss that time leading up to Christmas, when everyone is in a light spirit, enjoying sweets and treats, and the anticipation of spending the holidays with loved ones.

This year will be a bit different, unfortunately not with family — but I’ll make the most of it and am curious to experience the holidays in New York City, which feels especially magical during this season.
