Unverhofft kommt oft.

Some things really do happen out of the blue — like getting a Thanksgiving invitation three hours in advance from my friend in California to her parents’ house in New York. She wasn’t even there, but I went anyway and ended up spending a wonderful evening.

It was a traditional Thanksgiving dinner meeting Indian heritage: good conversations, plenty of laughter, and deliciously spicy food — all that’s needed.

And in the spirit of Thanksgiving, I’ll end here by saying how grateful I am for my loved ones — the old and the new, the friends and the family — who make life feel full in all the best ways.
