If you ask a New Yorker, they’ll tell you—a good Sunday starts with a great bagel. So I treated myself to a bagel packed to the brim, a perfect addition to my slow and relaxing Sunday. Perfectly toasted, slightly crisp on the outside, soft inside, and barely holding together layers of scrambled eggs, sausage, melted cheddar, and crispy bacon—a winning combination of textures and flavors.
Bagels and New York go hand in hand, and there’s history behind it. Brought over by Eastern European Jewish immigrants in the late 19th century, bagels became a staple thanks to their affordability, portability, and, of course, their unbeatable chew. Yum!

Fun fact: The city’s water is often credited for giving them their distinct texture—whether that’s science or just legend is up for debate.
