The Whitney

The Whitney Museum of American Art was founded by Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney in 1930. It is famous for collecting, preserving, interpreting, and exhibiting the finest twentieth century American Art. The building is designed by architect Renzo Piano – one of the most admired museum architects- and is situated between the High Line and the Hudson River, in the Meatpacking District.

Art is in the eye of the beholder, and everyone will have their own interpretation. E.A. Bucchianeri

It’s worth a visit! And it is free every second Sunday of the month 😀
